Principal Welcome

Welcome to Helmwood Heights Elementary School

The education of a child has lasting consequences not only for the child, but also for the family and community.

As a 20 year educator, I have taught at all levels. In that time, one thing is clear - in order for the student to be a positive contributor to the community, there must be a partnership between the parent, school and student. Within that partnership, the relationship built between the three is the foundation for the child’s education.

The Elizabethtown Independent School District has a long and rich history of producing graduates that further and advance our community. The “Tradition of Excellence” is not just a motto for EIS, but an expectation for each of our students. This begins at the Elementary level.

The staff at Helmwood Heights is one of the best kept secrets within EIS. Always striving to be on the cutting edge and incorporate proven strategies to meet our students where they are and progress them forward has been and will continue to be the standard.

As a 1998 graduate of Elizabethtown High School, I am honored and humbled to lead Helmwood to new Heights as we continue to build relationships with our parents and students.
